GENEVA — Air transport communications and technology provider SITA has reached a definitive agreement to acquire the Airport Solutions business of Collins Aerospace, uniting two of the aviation industry's largest terminal software providers.

The combined portfolio brings together SITA's global presence in departure control, baggage tracking, and biometric identity with Collins Aerospace's ARINC vMUSE Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS), SelfMix bag drops, and flight information display architectures deployed across North America and Europe.

SITA Chief Executive David Lavorel noted that the acquisition accelerates the deployment of end-to-end cloud-native passenger processing platforms, reducing on-premise IT hardware overhead for commercial airport operators.

The transaction remains subject to customary antitrust and regulatory approvals.
