CRAWLEY, United Kingdom — London Gatwick Airport has completed the network-wide installation of 42 automated biometric boarding gates across its North and South Terminals.

The touchless system, implemented in collaboration with easyJet and British Airways, matches live facial scans against passport imagery verified during initial check-in. The tokenized biometric workflow eliminates paper and digital boarding pass scanning at the gate, reducing per-PAX boarding turnaround time from 4.5 seconds to 1.8 seconds.

Customer satisfaction surveys recorded a 96% approval rating among departing travelers.
