OSLO — Smiths Detection has been awarded a major framework agreement by Nordic airport operators Avinor and Finavia to supply 38 automated checkpoint lanes across Oslo Gardermoen, Bergen, and Helsinki-Vantaa airports.
The deployment features Smiths Detection HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX baggage screening units and iLane automated tray return systems. The systems meet European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) EDS CB C3 approval standards, enabling seamless security screening for all connecting European PAX.
Deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q3 2026, with full network operational certification targeted ahead of winter peak operations.
